Got to Colorado this morning and set up camp. Went stash our climbers in the woods at the trailhead for tomorrows hike in. Going on 38hrs with only a 30 minute cat nap so I will be in bed early tonight. Shot my bow a few times and it's ready to go so I hope I am. Couple of pictures of our coon a** village.   |

Yea it's a bit warm here and not a whole lot of sign. Word is that they are still up high in the flat tops but we have 2 weeks to get it done so no panic yet. Put out a couple of trail cams today in the better looking spots and did a whole lot of walking. Hopefully some cooler weather will come soon.
Oh and it takes a lot to get used to packing that long a** stick around in a thicket lol.

Still not much elk sign, tuff hunting this year. We had a local friend stop by for a visit yesterday afternoon and said they have had a lot of hot weather the past few weeks and they are still up high but it's cooled off a lot the past 2 days with frost this morning. He said they will be moving down soon especially come this weekend when muzzleloader opens. So we hike in evey morning and hunt/scout a few hours then go back to camp and fish the lake lol. Sitting here this beautiful morning but still not much happening. Gunna run trail cams later to see if anything has been around. Good thing we have 2 weeks because this week looks like a bust lol.

Sit back and enjoy your time with your son. There is nothing wrong with fishing and camping a little when the time isn't right.

Thanks yall. Shot my bow a few times the past few days and had to replace the string again because it is getting cut once again. Gunna limit my practice shots to 2 arrows for the rest of my time here so hopefully these 2 backups make it.
